The Opportunity

This is a new position within our Air Compliance Team that is tailored to a recent college graduate, providing an opportunity to gain valuable air compliance knowledge and experience.   The ideal candidate will combine a strong undergraduate science-related degree, excellent work ethic and a desire to build a career in environmental compliance.   Knowledge of environmental regulations and/or the construction materials industry are valuable skills for this role.

The candidate will work on various compliance projects autonomously and as a member of project teams.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide compliance assistance primarily in the air quality arena.
  • Prepare air quality permit applications; health risk assessments, compliance evaluations and reports allowing businesses to build new facilities or expand existing operations.
  • Provide content expertise on local, state and federal air quality rules and regulations.
  • Audit facilities, prepare process flow diagrams and perform visible emissions observations.
  • Remain in frequent contact with clients, regulatory agencies and outside contractors

 

 

Location

This position will be located in Long Beach, California

Education and Experience

 

This is an entry level position in our firm.  Undergraduate students and/or recent graduates will be considered.  Bachelor’s degree in Environmental, Engineering, or Science from strong university programs preferred.

 

Candidates should:

  • Maintain excellent grades and recommendations from faculty advisors and/or employers.  (Those with Master’s Degree in an engineering or science related field are welcome to apply.)
  • Have basic knowledge of AutoCAD and GIS.
  • Be comfortable working in the field and in industrial settings.
  • Possess excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Additional attributes that will be considered:
    • Knowledge of federal, state and local air pollution regulations is helpful, e.g. South Coast Air Quality Management District (SCAQMD).
    • Familiarity with the Construction Materials Industries (e.g. rock, sand & gravel, concrete, asphalt).
