![]() New Project Win for Alta Environmental Alta Environmental is pleased to announce a significant recent win in contracted project work for the City of Carlsbad, CA. The City of Carlsbad (City) is a scenic coastal community in northern San Diego County, with a population of just over 100,000 and an annual budget of approximately $260 million. The City is known for its commitment to providing high quality services to its residents and businesses while responsibly managing its resources. Alta was selected to provide assistance with the City’s National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) Municipal Separate Storm Sewer System (MS4) Monitoring and Assessment Program. The city is required by the San Diego Regional NPDES MS4 Permit R9-20013-0001 (Permit) to implement programs to control the contribution of pollutants to and the discharges from the MS4 within its jurisdiction. The goal of the Monitoring and Assessment Program is to inform the city about the nexus between the health of receiving waters and the water quality condition of the discharges from the city’s MS4. The scope of services under the contract includes scientific technical support related to non-storm water MS4 Outfall discharge monitoring, illicit discharge detection elimination investigations, conducting special study monitoring related to flow in priority areas, and assessment and reporting of the monitoring program. Alta’s Water Resources team based out of our Carlsbad, CA office is proud to support the City with this important project.
