Garth Engelhorn is a now a Trainer of Record (ToR)
Garth Engelhorn, Water Resources Project Manager/Sr. Consultant for Alta Environmental has become an Industrial General Permit (IGP) Trainer of Record (ToR). The program is administered by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) in concert with the California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA). Mr. Engelhorn joins David Renfrew, Director of Water Resources in a group of approximately 150 qualified individuals certified as IGP ToRs and Qualified Industrial Stormwater Practitioners (QISPs) by the State.
QISPs are required for facilities that must prepare ERA Level I or Level II reports. Additionally, new dischargers applying for Notice of Intent (NOI) for Permit coverage that discharge to a 303(d) listed water body will require the services of QISP to certify they do not contribute pollutants of concern to the listed water body. ToRs also can perform the functions of a Compliance Group Leader for a given industry sector. Congratulations to Garth on his additional certification!
Mr. Engelhorn and Mr. Renfrew are able to provide QISP services and will be offering QISP certification classes in the near future as the SWRCB’s QISP training program is developed late Spring of 2016. People interested in becoming a QISP will be required to take two full days of online training, pass an online midterm exam, take a full day orientation class provided by a QISP ToR, and pass a final exam to demonstrate proficiency in the program. More information can be found in the near future on the SWRCB’s website at http://www.swrcb.ca.gov/water_issues/programs/stormwater/qisp.shtml and at CASQA’s QISP website at: https://www.casqa.org/resources/qisp . Ross Pippen is now a Qualified Stormwater Practitioner (QSP)
Ross Pippen, Water Resources Associate Consultant for Alta Environmental has become a Qualified Stormwater Practitioner (QSP). The program is administered by the State Water Resources Control Board (SWRCB) in concert with the California Stormwater Quality Association (CASQA). The QSP is responsible for Storm Water Pollution Prevention Plan (SWPPP) implementation, inspections, BMP maintenance and repair, and sampling on Permit required construction sites. Mr. Pippen’s QSP credentials provide additional qualifications and experience to Alta’s construction stormwater management services. His certifications will support and complement the existing certifications of Mr. David Renfrew who is a Qualified SWPPP Developer (QSD) and QSP. Alta currently assists numerous clients through the regulatory process with services ranging from pre- construction plans thru implementation of post construction BMPs. Congratulations to Ross on his additional certification!
