We are seeking a Water Resources Engineer. Relative to the candidate’s degree and/or number of years of experience, the ideal candidate will work on various projects autonomously and under supervision of a Senior Consultant.

Key Responsibilities will include:
  • Water Quality Management Plans
  • Municipal, Industrial and Construction Storm Water Compliance
  • Water Quality and Quantity Modeling
  • GIS
  • CADD
  • BMP Design
  • Report development and writing
  • Field work
  • Frequent contact with clients, regulatory agencies and outside contractors

Candidates should have:

  • A master’s degree in environmental engineering (or similar degree) and a CA Civil PE License with approximately 4-10 years of demonstrated experience in the planning, design, and performance evaluation of regional- and site-scale best management practices (BMPs) and knowledge of pollutant treatability as it applies to standard storm water controls and practices.
  • Working knowledge of local water quality and storm water regulations, standards, pollutant drivers, TMDLs, associated programmatic efforts to comply with regulations, and water quality data interpretation and management.
  • Experience using modeling software/tools (HEC-HMS, SWMM, HPSF, etc)
  • Demonstrated experience with water quality, hydrology, and hydraulic studies, including with watershed planning, watershed modeling, and BMP implementation for water quality impairment mitigation. Experience to include planning, design, and functional knowledge of storm water conveyance systems including municipal separate storm sewer system (MS4) and storm water drainage and flood control infrastructure.
  • Proficiency in GIS and CADD.
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of project activities.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Effective technical writing skills.
  • A collaborative and entrepreneurial spirit.

The position can be located in our San Diego, Long Beach, or Irvine office.
