How to Become a Qualified Industrial Storm Water Practitioner (QISP): Alta Offers Industrial General Permit (IGP) QISP Training
Alta will be offering the mandatory one-day classroom training course required to obtain qualifications as an Industrial General Permit (IGP) Qualified Industrial Storm Water Practitioner (QISP) on July 27, 2016. This training is part of several steps required to earn an IGP QISP certificate. We will offer this training over several sessions during this summer.
The Industrial General Permit requires a QISP be involved when exceedance response actions are triggered. A QISP must assist the Discharger in completing the Level 1 status and Level 2 status ERA requirements as specified in the Permit. A QISP is also responsible for assisting New Dischargers that will be discharging to an impaired water body with a 303(d) listed impairment, demonstrate eligibility for coverage through preparing the data and/or information required in the Permit.
A QISP is required to perform the following activities:
ERA Level I
ERA Level II
