Environment Health & Safety Associate Consultant (Long Beach, CA)

Alta is growing the Environmental Health Safety and Air team with the addition of an EH&S Associate Consultant.  Relative to the candidate’s degree and/or number of years of experience, the ideal candidate will work on various Air and Environmental Health & Safety compliance projects autonomously and under supervision of a Senior Consultant. The candidate must have a thorough working knowledge of multimedia Environmental, Health and Safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities will include:
  • California EH&S regulatory compliance audits
  • SCAQMD/CARB Regulatory Support
  • Title V and RECLAIM compliance and reporting
  • Health Risk Assessment methodology and reporting
  • Air dispersion modeling
  • Toxic Release Inventory (TRI) reporting
  • Hazardous Materials Business Plan (HMBP) & California Environmental Reporting System
  • Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) Plans
  • Industrial Hygiene assessments
  • Health & Safety policies
  • Hazardous waste minimization
  • Provide training for the management of hazardous waste and materials
  • On-site work at client facilities
  • Frequent contact with clients, regulatory agencies and outside contractors

Candidates should have:
  • BS degree in environmental science, engineering, or industrial hygiene (or equivalent), MS preferred
  • 3 – 6 years of related experience
  • Industry experience preferred
  • Experience in Air and Health & Safety
  • Ability to multi-task and manage a variety of project activities
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Effective technical writing skills along with MS Office proficiency
  • OSHA 40-hour HAZWOPER Certification preferred

The position will be located in our Long Beach office.
